U.S. / Canada FASTAlertsYou must first apply for the FAST program through the DHS Trusted Traveler Programs website. You will be asked to pay a $50 fee for a 5 year membership. You will also have to fill out questions regarding your background.
Note: FAST (Free and Secure Trade) is designed for commercial truck drivers who frequently cross the U.S.-Canada border. It provides expedited customs and immigration clearance for commercial carriers.
Start Your FAST ApplicationAfter your application has been submitted, you will have to wait for conditional approval. Conditional approval means that you have been pre approved for the FAST program, but you need to schedule an interview to finalize your application.
The conditional approval process can take anywhere from 24 hours to multiple months, depending on the volume of applications, your background, etc.
Congratulations! You've been conditionally approved for U.S./Canada FAST. The next step is to schedule your interview at Houlton Enrollment Center (HUL).
You might notice that Houlton Enrollment Center (HUL) is showing "No appointments available for this location", or the next appointment available is months out.
So what can you do?
FAST interview appointments are constantly cancelled, rescheduled, and added. This means that if you can monitor the interview slots, you can find an appointment that fits your schedule.

Directions: The Enrollment Center is located at the Houlton, Maine Port of Entry, at the end of the Interstate 95. If coming from Canada, please tell the Primary Officer that you are applying for entry to the United States for a Trusted Traveler interview and you will be directed to the Enrollment Center. If you are coming from the United States, cross under the overpass and take the first Left (look for an Orange Barricade with FAST EXPRESS signage) drive across the parking lot to the USDA building where you will see a sign for FAST EXPRESS above the USDA placard. Enter the door under the sign for the Enrollment Center.
Notes: The Houlton Enrollment Center conducts in person only Global Entry, NEXUS, and FAST North interviews. All applicants are required to bring proof of citizenship, birth certificates, passports if applicable, and verification of permanent physical address and mailing address to their appointment. *Applicants must be able to provide evidence that they are admissible to the United States*
