Step 1 - Apply for U.S./Canada FAST
You must first apply for the FAST program through the DHS Trusted Traveler Programs website. You will be asked to pay a $50 fee for a 5 year membership. You will also have to fill out questions regarding your background.
Note: FAST (Free and Secure Trade) is designed for commercial truck drivers who frequently cross the U.S.-Canada border. It provides expedited customs and immigration clearance for commercial carriers.
Start Your FAST ApplicationStep 2 - Wait for conditional approval
After your application has been submitted, you will have to wait for conditional approval. Conditional approval means that you have been pre approved for the FAST program, but you need to schedule an interview to finalize your application.
The conditional approval process can take anywhere from 24 hours to multiple months, depending on the volume of applications, your background, etc.
Step 3 - Schedule Your FAST interview
Congratulations! You've been conditionally approved for U.S./Canada FAST. The next step is to schedule your interview at Champlain NEXUS and FAST (YJN).

- Click on the "Chose This Location" button to see the available timeslots at Champlain NEXUS and FAST (YJN)
Step 4 - Skip the FAST Interview wait time
You might notice that Champlain NEXUS and FAST (YJN) is showing "No appointments available for this location", or the next appointment available is months out.
So what can you do?
FAST interview appointments are constantly cancelled, rescheduled, and added. This means that if you can monitor the interview slots, you can find an appointment that fits your schedule.

The Enrollment Center is in the Cargo Building on top of the hill. Please bring all original documents including; driver's license, permanent resident card, visas, and passports from any country that have been issued to you. If you are bringing your child to their interview and the other parent is not present, please make sure to bring a letter of consent to travel, enroll, and renew them into the program with a photocopy of the other parent’s enrollment card, driver’s license, and passport. If you were ever fingerprinted as part of any arrest or incident, please bring the associated court documents to your interview. Each applicant must have their own appointment scheduled.
